Projects
Email Activity
In my Business Communication course, I completed an assignment where a fictional supervisor requested suggestions for improving an email. I proofread the original message thoroughly, provided feedback, and completely rewrote the email. My main goal was to ensure that the final message was effective and straightforward for the intended audience.
After revising the email, I wrote a message to the supervisor expressing my appreciation for their concerns regarding the matter.
This assignment helped me enhance my skills in editing professional emails and improved my ability to provide effective feedback.
Data Tracking
Using the Health app on my iPhone, I did an analysis documenting the number of steps and equivalent miles I walked each day over a month. The average person in America takes about 3,000-4,000 steps per day, equivalating to 1.5-2 miles. I wanted to see where I fit in this range and discover what days of the week I happen to take the most steps. From the data, I was able to correlate the days I work or attend class (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday), with me being more active. I discovered Fridays and Saturdays are times when I need to increase my physical activity. These are also days when I tend to focus on completing assignments and rarely pay attention to the steps I take.
Understanding the correlation within the data showed me the importance of data tracking and how we can implement it in our everyday lives. The assignment allowed me to explore various visualization tools and create well-assorted information.

Team Presentation
In my Business Communication course, I collaborated with my classmates to complete a presentation that focused on non-verbal communication and its impact in the workplace. We explored various types of non-verbal cues and discussed how they are often misinterpreted.
This project helped me enhance my skills in creating effective presentations and improve my non-verbal communication while presenting. I also learned about the influence of non-verbal cues on first impressions and recognized their importance in professional settings.
Peer Feedback Assignment
Receiving feedback has been a vital part of my Business Communication class. My classmates have offered insight regarding areas where I can improve my writing and data. This information has been valuable as it allowed me to practice areas I need to improve, such as eliminating redundancy and clarifying my messages.
Providing feedback also played a huge role in this class. I offered suggestions on how to enhance the effectiveness of an email, as well as recommendations on improving feedback. These assignments were crucial in improving my approach to writing constructive feedback and my ability to analyze work more carefully.
